Secrets of Successful Teams

To be a success is not always to be a success individually. In fact, most of the time we achieve our successes as part of a team. That is why I want to devote this issue to the secrets of successful team.

We are all part of teams. Our family is a team. Our place of work is a team. The community groups we belong to are teams. Sometimes we are the team leader or “coach,” while other times we fulfill the role of follower, or “player.” It is so important then for us to understand teams and how they work, especially those who achieve success – the achievement of their desired goal.

In my life I have been on some successful teams, and some not so successful teams. This includes both athletically as well as professionally. When I was growing up, I worked for seven years with the Seattle Supersonics, our local National Basketball Association team. They were at times unsuccessful, and, in 1979, my second year working there, the most successful team in the league, winning the World Championship. I have been able to see firsthand what makes the difference between the unsuccessful teams and the successful ones.

Here are some principles that I know, when implemented on a regular basis, can turn any lackluster team into an outstanding one! These principles can be applied to your family, your business, your organization, and yes, your sports team. Enjoy.

Communication Leader
The leader needs to communicate the vision. If they are setting the pace, they need to let people know where they are going so that the team can follow. The coach always does a pre-game talk, laying out the vision.

The leader communicates the vision frequently, so as to always be updating the team as to where they are at and what changes need to be made. The coach doesn’t relegate the direction he gives to the pre-game, he coaches and communicates all the way through the game.

Team
Watch a good basketball team. They are talking to each other all of the time. Helping one another out, encouraging one another, praising one another, and telling each other how they can make changes so the same mistakes aren’t made again. The same is true of successful teams in the professional world and in life in general.

Excellence
The truly great teams are teams that are committed to excellence. In everything they do, their goal is to achieve at the highest level. And this commitment is held throughout the team and at every level. A successful team cannot have members who are not committed to excellence because in the end they will become the weak link.

Followership
If you want a fascinating read, pick up The Power of Followership, by Robert Kelley. The author basically makes the point that the secret to getting things done lies not only in great leadership, but in how well the rest of the people, 99% of the team, follows the leadership. Good teams are filled with people who are committed to following and getting the job done.

Understanding Roles
Pardon the Chicago Bulls analogy, but it is so clear. When the game was on the line, with only one shot left, everyone, the coaches, the players, the 20,000 people watching in the stadium, and millions watching on TV, knew who would shoot the last shot. That was Michael Jordan’s role.

Every team works best when the members of the team have clearly defined and understood roles. Some do one thing, others do another. One isn’t better or more important than the other, just different. When teams operate out of their strengths and their roles, they win.

Strengths and Weaknesses
This brings me to strengths and weaknesses. Every team member has strengths and weaknesses. The successful teams are those who on a regular and consistent basis enable the members to operate out of their strengths and not out of their weaknesses. And what is one person’s strengths will cover another’s weakness. This is teamwork, enabling all of the bases to be covered.

Fun
The team that plays together stays together. Is your team all work and no play? If you’re smart, that will change. Get your team out of the office once a month and go have some fun. Enjoy one another. Enjoy life. It will bring a sense of bonding that can’t be made even in “winning.”

Common Goals and Vision
I have found that these need to have three aspects. Short, simple and clear.

Can you say it in less than 30 seconds? Is it simple? Can you and others understand it? Does the team all know what they are working together for?

Appreciation
All through the “game,” successful teams appreciate one another and show it in a variety of ways. The coach shows it to the players, the players show it to the coach, and the players show it to one another.

Here is a “Successful Teams” Checklist for you to evaluate with.

Is there communication between coach and players and from player to player?
Is your team committed to excellence?
Do those on the team know what it means to follow?
Does everyone on my team know their specific role?
Do the individuals on our team regularly operate out of their strengths as opposed to their weaknesses?
Does our team take a break from time to time to just have fun together?
Do we understand our common goals and vision? Can we all state it (them)?
Is there a sense of and communication of genuine appreciation among my team?

What To Do When You Don't Feel Like Doing Anything

“The measure of your success usually comes down to who wins the battle that rages between the two of you. The ‘you’ who wants to stop, give up, or take it easy, and the ‘you’ who chooses to beat back that which would stand in the way of your success - complacency.” Chris Widener

In all of my interactions with people, I've never found anyone, regardless of their level of success, who doesn't sometimes find themselves simply not wanting to do the things that they need and want to do. It is a part of human nature that there will be times that, in spite of all that we need to do, and even desire to, we will find ourselves not wanting to do anything. And what separates those who will become successful from those who will maintain the status-quo, is the ability at those very crucial moments of time when we are making decisions about what we will do, to choose to find the inner motivation that will enable us to conquer our complacency and move on in action.

I find that I confront this issue in my life on a regular basis, so the following success strategies are not merely pie in the sky techniques, but proven ways to get yourself to go even when you don't feel like doing anything.

Honestly evaluate whether or not you need a break
This is the first thing that I usually do what I find that I don't want to get to a specific action. The fact is that oftentimes we will have been working very hard and the lethargy we are feeling is really our body and emotions telling us that we simply need a break. And this is where it takes real intellectual honesty because when we don't need a break our mind is still telling us we need a break! But sometimes we do need a break. I'll give you a good example. I don't particularly like to exercise, but I do almost every day. Sometimes, I find myself before going to the club thinking about how I just didn't feel like going. Most of the time I am just being lazy. However, sometimes I realize that my body needs a break. So from time to time I will take a one or two daybreak from working out. The benefits of this are two-fold: One, my body gets a break to regenerate itself. Two, after a day or two, I begin to miss my workout, and eagerly anticipate a turning to the gym.

Other examples: Perhaps you are a salesman who has been phoning clients for a week straight, day and night. You wake up one morning and just don’t feel like doing it any more. Well, take a break for the morning. Go to a coffee shop and read the paper. Go to the driving range and hit some golf balls. Take a break and then get back to it!

Start small
I'm at a point in my workout schedule now where a typical workout day for me consists of 30 to 45 minutes of aerobic exercise, and about 30 minutes of weight lifting. So when I find myself not wanting to get up and go to the gym, I will sometimes make a commitment to go and just do a smaller workout. Instead of deciding not to go, I'll commit to doing 15 to 20 minutes of aerobic exercise and 15 to 30 minutes of weight lifting. This is also good for two reasons. One, I actually get some exercise that day. And two, it keeps me from getting into a cycle of giving up when I don't feel like moving toward action.
Other examples: Maybe you are a writer who simply doesn’t want to write today. Instead of the long day writing you had planned, decide that you will at least outline a couple of new articles. You will at least get these done, and you may have found that you put yourself into the writing mood after all.

Change your routine
I have found that what keeps me in the best shape and burns the most calories for me, is to do 30 to 45 minutes on the treadmill every day. Now let me be very blunt. I find running on the treadmill to be extremely boring. Usually I can get myself to do it, but sometimes I need to vary my routine. So instead of 30 to 45 minutes on a treadmill, I will break down my aerobic exercise routine into a number of different areas. I will do ten to 15 minutes on treadmills, 10 to 15 minutes on the reclining cycle, 5 to 10 minutes on the rowing machine, 5 to 10 minutes on the stair stepper, and then back on to the treadmill for five to 10 minutes. I still get my exercise, but I'm bored a lot less.

Other examples: Maybe you are in construction and you have been working on the plumbing for a week, and it is getting monotonous. Don’t do the plumbing today! Go frame-in the office.

Reward yourself
One way that I motivate myself to do something when I don't feel like doing it, is to tell myself that if I get through the work that I need to, I will give myself a little reward. For instance, I may tell myself if I to get up and go to the club I can take five to 10 minutes off my treadmill exercise, which will shorten my workout routine, and I'll allow myself to sit in the hot tub for a few extra minutes. Hey, it works!

Other examples: Maybe you are a mortgage broker who feels like sleeping in. Tell yourself that after the next three mortgages you close you will take your kids to the fair, or your spouse to the movies. Maybe you’ll give yourself a night on the town with old friends.

Reconnect the action with pleasure rather than pain
Psychologists have long told us that we humans tend to connect every action with either pleasure or pain. Tony Robbins has popularized this even further in the last few years with something he calls Neural Associations. That is, we connect every action with either a pleasure, or pain. When we are finding ourselves lacking motivation, what we are probably finding about ourselves is that we are associating the action that we are thinking about with pain, rather than pleasure. For instance, when I'm considering that not going to the health club on any given day, I am usually associating going and working out with having no time, the pain of exercising and weight lifting, or the boringness of running on a treadmill for an extended period of time. What I can do to re-associate is to remind myself that by going in and doing my exercise I will feel better about myself, I will lose weight, and I will live longer. This brings me pleasure. When we begin to run those kinds of tapes through our minds, we find our internal motivating force unleashed and changing our attitude about the action that we are considering.

Other examples: Maybe you are a counselor who really doesn’t want to spend the day listening to people. Your association may be that it will be boring, or that you will be inside while it is sunny outside. Instead, re-associate yourself to the truth of the matter: Someone will be better off because of your care and concern. Think of your clients and the progression they have been making recently and how you have been a part of that.

Daily motivation: What motivates you each day?

Every experience that a person has impacts him or her positively or negatively. All of the positive moments most likely enhance our daily motivation. Daily motivation is what enables us to strive to be better people, to work towards goals, and to lead fulfilling lives.

Setting goals:
Many of us set goals for ourselves. In turn, these goals motivate us to work hard to achieve success. Goals drive an individual’s daily motivation. Goals such as getting a Master’s degree, having a high-paying job, getting married, purchasing an expensive car, or mortgaging a home drive a person to succeed. When setting a goal, a person must remember that taking small steps to achieve it helps keep up a positive attitude. It is best not to get overwhelmed with attaining a huge goal quickly; but rather one should take small steps to get it done. The desire to accomplish a goal is what keeps people going, even on bad days.

Attitude:
A positive attitude is a source of daily motivation. Believing that one of your goals is too difficult to achieve will eventually prevent you from achieving it. Having a negative attitude will cause you both internal and external stress. A negative attitude will de-motivate you, and put you on the road to failure. To achieve your goals, you must be able to tell yourself that every goal can be attained with hard work. If you tell yourself that you can do it, chances are that you will. Never underestimate the power of the mind. Daily motivation is all about attitude and outlook.

Religion:
While not all of us are religious, many people who are will agree that religion helps improve daily motivation. Religion can be used as a great motivational tool for people from all walks of life. Religion - no matter what kind - encourages mindfulness and internal motivation. The religious depend on their beliefs to strengthen them mentally.

People often depend on their religion when things are going downhill. Prayer and meditation inspire those who might otherwise turn to drinking, food, or drugs to nurture their spirits. Religion may help some people to be more mentally and physically healthy. Therefore, religion is a positive source of daily motivation.

The desire to live:
Daily motivation also comes in the simple desire to live. Whether children, a job, or money inspires someone to get out of bed in the morning, that person is motivated by something in life.

Even things as simple as nature can motivate someone to maintain a positive attitude about life even when times get hard. A person can take pleasure in nature’s beauty by taking time to smell the roses or listen to the birds sing. Studies show that people who live in warmer climates have a more positive attitude about life in general. These same people also have the tendency to go outside and exercise more often. This exercise brings about a sense of inner peace and positive feelings, thus becoming a daily motivation for many people.

Employee motivation: The key to a companys success

Picture this: You're the owner of a seat manufacturing company that produces seating for wheelchairs, auditoriums, and cars. You have approximately 100 employees, 90 percent of which are upholsters, sewers, gluers, and material cutters. The other 10 percent are office staff. Basically, you have a diverse group of employees, each with different jobs, concerns, and needs. The big question is: How do you motivate all of these people?

Treat your employees well and your company will succeed:
If you are a smart business owner, you will realize that employee motivation at the workplace is essential to a company's success. If your employees don't respect their bosses, their jobs, and their company, then your business will not thrive.

Your employees must WANT to work at your company.
They must have pride in their jobs, as well as the product that they are making. This about it this way: If your employees truly believe in what they are doing, they are most likely going to output a high-quality product in as quickly a manner as possible. In the end, your customers will benefit from this. Your company will benefit from this. And your employees will the benefit from this. Success is truly a chain reaction that begins and ends with employee motivation.

Put yourself in the shoes of your employees:
So how do you get your diverse mix of employees motivated? Why would anyone want to wake up at 7 AM five days a week to sew material to make seats for wheelchairs?
Would you get up to do this if, hanging above your department, you saw photos of the disabled people using the seats you stitched? Would you get up to do this if you were able to voice your ideas for new seats to your boss and to the whole company in weekly meetings? Would you get up to do this if you were given pay incentives or other types of rewards for the number or quality grade of seats you got done in a month?

If you answered yes to even one of these questions, then you would be considered a motivated employee. At least one of these things would have challenged you and would have given you reason to come in to work.

Think about some key points that enhance employee motivation:

- Every employee wants to feel appreciated in some way.
- Every employee wants to be given some sort of proof that what he or she did bettered the world, the community, or just the company in some sort of way.
- Every employee wants to feel that his or her opinion is at least heard - whether or not it is actually used. Having the opportunity to voice an opinion and bring new ideas to the table is a positive thing for both an employee and a company.
- Every employee wants to be rewarded for a job well done. It is understandable that large raises and elaborate prizes cannot always be available. But sometimes a simple acknowledgement from an owner or a boss can mean a great deal.

As a business owner, or as a boss, understand that one wants to work hard only to end up feeling unappreciated in the end. In a corporate world where money and power appear to mean success, it is key to remember that without good employee motivation at the basic level nothing else would be possible.

How to Accept Yourself

How to Accept Yourself

An article added by Tina Lo Greco at E-articles.info;

Too many of us have bought into negative self images. The major social problems in our society — drug addiction, alcoholism, crime, teenage gangs, divorce and most others — begin with a poor self image and low self esteem. Most criminals have low self esteem. All you need to do to confirm this is visit a
prison and talk to the inmates. The first thing you will notice is
that they continually look down at the floor when speaking to
you. This is a dead giveaway of a low self image.

During one of my workshops, a woman remarked how she
did not like going to events and meeting new people because,
as she put it, “Then they will know how dumb I’m.” The truth
of the matter is that she is a very intelligent person but has
developed this negative self image and allowed it to limit her
experience.

Louise Hay, the bestselling author, suggests we work with
the affirmation, “I approve of myself.” I urge you to try this for
yourself, especially if you have a low self image. If you want to
get a quick read on your present level of self esteem, stand in
front of a mirror and say aloud, “I approve of myself.” Don’t be
surprised if it makes you uncomfortable, even scared. I have
seen people burst into tears doing this exercise. However, if you
continue to do this, over time, you will begin to experience
changes in how you feel about yourself and in your life in general.
Louise suggests you recite, write, sing these words 300–400
times a day!

Practice receiving a compliment with a simple “thank you”
instead of brushing them off by saying “its no big deal.”
You deserve compliments. You deserve love. You deserve
happiness. Remember, God doesn’t make junk!

It’s useful to keep in mind that, while you will never be perfect,
you can become a perfect you. Personally, I have always
liked the concept that my life is a work of art in progress. Like
an artist working on a painting, I can work on different areas of
my life. I’m constantly changing, growing and evolving, refining
a little at a time. Of course, it will never be fully completed.
Life is about changing and growing.

By identifying the areas of your own life you want to change,
you are on your way to building lifelong success. Later, we will
develop definite plans for making changes, but for now, simply
identify what it is you want to change.

The Top Six Ways to Stay Motivated

I receive many emails from people that basically ask the same question: How can I keep myself motivated long term? This seems to be quite a common dilemma for many people so I want to address it because it can be done! Here are my tips for staying motivated:

Get motivated every day.
Zig Ziglar was once confronted about being a “motivational speaker.” The guy said to him, “You guys come and get people hyped up and then you leave and the motivation goes away. It doesn’t last, and then you have to get motivated again.” Zig reminded the gentleman that baths are the same way but we think it is a good idea to take a bath every day!

It is true that motivation doesn’t last. We have to renew it each and every day. That is okay. It doesn’t make motivation a bad thing. We simply have to realize that if we want to stay motivated over the long term, it is something we will have to apply to ourselves each and every day.

Have a vision for your life.
The root word of motivation is “motive.” The definition of motive is, “A reason to act.” This is the cognitive or rational side of motivation. It is your vision. You have to have a vision that is big enough to motivate you. If you are making $50,000 a year, it isn’t going to motivate you to set your goal at $52,000 a year. You just won’t get motivated for that because the reward isn’t enough. Maybe $70,000 a year would work for you. Set out a vision and a strategy for getting there. Have a plan and work the plan.

Fuel your passion.
Much of motivation is emotional. I don’t know quite how it works but I do know THAT it works. Emotion is a powerful force in getting us going. Passion is an emotion, so fuel your passion. “Well, I like to work on logic,” you may say. Great, now work on your passion. Set yourself on a course to have a consuming desire for your goal, whatever it is. Do whatever you can to feel the emotion and use it to your advantage!

Work hard enough to get results.
You can build on your motivation by getting results. The harder you work, the more results you will get and the more results you get, the more you will be motivated to get more. These things all build on one another. If you want to lose weight, then lose the first few pounds. When the belt moves to the next notch you will get fired up to get it to the notch beyond that!

Put good materials into your mind.
I can’t say this enough – listen to tapes. I still listen to tapes regularly. I buy tape clubs from other speakers and I learn and grow. Their successes motivate me to get my own successes! Read good books. Read books that teach you new ideas and skills. Read books that tell the stories of successful people. Buy them, read them, and get motivated! Buy great music and listen to it. I just did a spinning class at the club today. Whenever a good song came on I was actually able to get motivated to ride faster! It gets you going and motivates you!

Ride the momentum when it comes.
Sometimes you will just be clicking and sometimes you won’t. That is okay. It is the cycle of life. When you aren’t clicking, plug away. When you are clicking, pour it on because momentum will help you get larger gains in a shorter period of time with less energy. That is the Momentum Equation! When you are feeling good about how your work is going, ride the momentum and get as much out of it as you can!

These are the top six ways to stay motivated:
Get motivated every day.

Have a vision for your life.

Fuel your passion.

Work hard enough to get results.

Put good materials into your mind.

Ride the momentum when it comes.

These are simple principles, that when you put them to work regularly, will change your life by keeping you motivated all the time! Get going!

The Art Of Leadership: Six Key Leadership Skills

As business owners, we must develop leadership qualities if we want our business to succeed. Whether our desire is to be a leader or not, there are specific skills that must be developed. Leadership styles will differ according to various personalities but main qualities must exist for excellence. Below are five critical keys of leadership.

1. Principle Centered Leadership: This should be the most important quality on our list of priorities. Without this, a company will eventually collapse. A company may grow and even succeed for a period of time, however, at some point the facade will become it’s downfall. Integrity, honesty, treating others with respect, honor, loyalty, etc., will build a solid foundation for a long term lucrative business.

2. Assessing situations logically: A good leader is able to evaluate information in a logical manner and make decisions accordingly. They take into account all angles and consequences of that decision. They have the ability to problem solve. They look at obstacles as temporary and stay focused on the main goal. Hurdles are challenges rather than road blocks.

3. Being decisive and taking immediate action when necessary: Leaders have the ability to act promptly when the situation calls for it. They recognize that hesitation in some situations may be detrimental. It is important to be cautious and think things through from all angles, however, opportunities can be lost by over thinking and not acting in a timely manner.

4. Communication: Effectively communicating with others is crucial. We all have various types of personalities and ways of communicating. Concentrate on the strengths you have and work on those. The main key to communication is understanding the other person. Leaders have the ability to create confidence and loyalty because they are genuinely concerned about others. They are willing to listen to the ideas and input of those around them. They value others and do not feel threatened by building others up.

5. Healthy self esteem: Leaders are content with the qualities they possess but are constantly striving for self improvement. Leaders learn from the success of other leaders and try to duplicate it. Maintaining their own personal uniqueness, identity, and personal value system is important to their overall sense of well being. They understand who they are and focus on their strengths. They maintain a quiet confidence in their abilities and talents. Successful leaders understand and live by the following principle; "You can be a first rate you, but only a second rate someone else".

6. Lead by example: Leaders are willing to do difficult things: They do not ask someone else to do something they themselves would not be willing to do. Some of the most influential and powerful leaders throughout history started at the bottom. They were not handed their success, they earned it through hard work and dedication. They do not expect respect from others, they earn the respect. Being tenacious is one of their most notable qualities. They have the ability after falling down to pick themselves back up and begin again.

Some are born with natural leadership qualities while others through determination develop them. In every group situation a leader will evolve. People like to have a strong and competent leader to follow. It is the desire within us to either lead or follow. If we aspire for leadership then must learn and implement the qualities exceptional leaders possess.

How To Get Motivated To Be Outrageously Successful In 2007

With the right sales motivation, you can become as successful as you want to be!

However, you must come to grips with this fact. If you aren't outrageously successful at this moment, thinking about it won't make it happen.

This is an especially busy time of the year for most of us, I know it is for me. I'm looking at where I've been this year, where I am at this moment, and where I want to be at the end of 2007.

Here is a short list of things you can do to make 2007 your best year ever in sales:

1. Analyze what worked for you during 2006.

2. Likewise - analyze what didn't work for you during 2006.

3. Establish personal and professional goals in writing for 2007 - goal-setting is critical for sales success.

4. Put these goals on a white board in your office - the bigger the white board the better.

5. Create action plans for all goals with specific completion dates - these dates should be added to your electronic calendar.

6. Call your biggest and best customers and thank them, again, for their business.

7. Get the biggest trash can liner you can find and toss away everything that isn't absolutely essential to your success. Go through your office, your car, and your briefcase.

8. Ask yourself, "What is holding you back?" It's a serious question which deserves some serious thought.

9. Ask your sales manager what his priorities are for 2007. Don't assume you know what they are. Listen carefully to his response.

10. You should also ask your best customers the same question.

11. Allocate 30 minutes a day to reading about your profession - okay listening to CDs is acceptable. This requires discipline. You will become an expert and a giant in your industry if you do this. If you don't, you'll just be in step with the mediocrity brigade.

12. Get involved with a mastermind group which means starting one if you have to. My group, Masters Speakers International, of course we had to give it a sexy name, has been meeting four times a year for 10 years. My time with this group of talented people has made a huge difference in my life and in my business.

13. I can't tell you how many e-mails I receive saying, "as soon as I start making more money, I'm going to start buying some of your products." Unfortunately, good intentions won't make you outrageously successful. Investing in yourself is a requirement, not something that depends on your income. Your personal business Library is a good predictor of your future success. You can't put a price on a good idea. And it takes a steady stream of good ideas to become outrageously successful.

14. Here's another sales tip - don't try to do everything yourself. You'd be absolutely amazed at what you can outsource for a very reasonable price. The next time you have a small project you wish you could give to somebody else, go to www.elance.com and see what they can do for you. You just might be surprised!

15. Finally, it's impossible to be good at everything. If there is something that you are not good at and you need to be good at it, for Pete's sake hire a sales coach. A good sales coach won't cost you anything. Yup, a good coach doesn't cost, he pays. A good coach can help convert your sales weaknesses into sales strengths.

It sad but true, not everybody wants to be outrageously successful.

Some people don't want to be accountable for their results - they prefer a pity party. Some people prefer mediocrity over superiority.

Some people postpone living to sometime in the future, when in fact the only time we are guaranteed is today.

We live in a great country, we really do. Sure things aren't always hunky-dory. But you sure do have to admit that America has unlimited opportunities for those who have desire, focus, ** discipline **, commitment, passion, and a great deal of enthusiasm for life and for business.

Van VanBebber says, in The Wall Street Journal, "We should all save and study more, and spend and weigh less." That's pretty good advice as we head into the New Year.

His advice, however, requires a great deal of self-discipline. Becoming outrageously successful also requires a great deal of self-discipline.

Do you have what it takes to do what it takes to become outrageously successful?

PS - If you want to beef up your personal library here are two ways you can do it. And it just happens the I've put some Holiday pricing on these packages, which means you can save a few bucks in the process.

If you like to read, add my complete collection of 5 sales books to your business library. Look, Don't take a pass on this because you already have one or two of my books - give 'em away as gifts.

The Secret Of Success

What’s your definition of success? You’ve probably heard it all before about the secret of success. The majority of people would say that having lots of money would be their definition of success. Success means different things to different people. Success can come in the form of happiness, developing quality relationships, goal achievements or a healthy lifestyle.

So how do you become successful? First, you need to ask yourself, what does success mean to you and what will it bring? You need to have a clear target in mind of exactly what you want.
If you say I want to own a house; you need to state exactly what type of house. How many bedrooms? Where would it be? Is it big or small? If you visualize it, your goals will become more realistic and obtainable.

Your pathway to success is determined by your actions, vision, drive and the choices that you make. It sounds easy but life is full of distractions such as the media, internet, entertainment, parties and everything else in between. This is just a fact of life. The key is to do something small everyday to reach your goal. Breaking down your goals into smaller tasks makes them manageable. For example, your long-term goal can be achieved by completing your monthly goals, to achieve your monthly goals, you would need to hit your weekly target goals and your weekly target goals can be achieved by performing your daily goals.

What it takes to becomes successful.

1) Developing the right mindset.

You need to develop a successful mindset. The actions that you’ve taken to approach your goals and the choices that you’ve made, will determine your success or failure.
You also need to control your fears, worries and any form of limitations that will prevent you from reaching your goals. The biggest limitation we have is security where we’re clinging on to our comfort zones.

Also having a positive frame of mind and a positive environment will help you immensely in further reaching your goals. Your friends and other people around you, the place that you work for and how you maintain your health are all a very important part of the process.

You should also develop a process of continuous improvements. Learn something new everyday, whether it’s a small task like learning a new recipe to cook or something adventurous like scuba diving, it doesn’t matter. It teaches your mind to be creative and avoid limiting your ability. Other individuals can also help you in the process. Good mentors are hard to come by, but none of us are perfect and learning is the key to a better self.

2) It’s because you want to, and not because you have to.

Sometimes in life we feel that we have no other choice but to follow other people or to choose the simplest route to obtain comfort or security. We go about our business in our daily lives. It could be either our chosen hobby or job but the problem is we do it with no heart or passion. What if that day comes when that task becomes difficult or unpopular? We’d probably give up and quit.

Success is about you discovering your talent. Using your talent will give you that ultimate feeling of freedom. Identify what it is that you really want in life and your career. How will your talent help other people?

3) Action… matters!

You could go to college and do your university degrees, obtain the knowledge, read all the books you want and think that someday you will be successful. Someday just might never happen unless you take action in what you want to do. You could be the busiest person but probably didn’t accomplish anything. You need to ask; will the actions that I am taking now lead me closer to my goals? Start small, think big. Do not make another day become another habit. Time is valuable.
